Safe Copy Privacy Policy
Safe Copy is designed to redact sensitive information in images and PDFs directly on your device.
- Safe Copy does not require an account.
- Safe Copy does not upload your documents to our servers.
- Safe Copy processes files locally on your device.
- Your original file is not modified by the app.
Information We Process
Safe Copy may access the following content that you choose to use:
- Files you import
- Images you choose from your photo library
- Files you choose to share from the app
This information is used only to perform on-device redaction and create a redacted copy for saving or sharing.
Data Collection and Sharing
- We do not upload your documents to our servers.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your documents with third parties for analytics, advertising, or profiling.
If you use the system share sheet, you choose the destination yourself. Any sharing that happens after that point is controlled by you and the app or service you select.
On-Device Processing and Temporary Files
Safe Copy is designed to process documents on-device. The app may create temporary files in app-private cache storage while you preview, redact, save, or share a document.
These temporary files are intended to be deleted when you leave the document flow, start a new document, or relaunch the app. Files you explicitly save to your device or share are controlled by you.
Permissions
Safe Copy may request access to:
- Photos or media, so you can choose images to redact
- Files and folders, so you can import documents and save exports
Safe Copy does not require microphone access for its intended use.
In-App Purchases
Safe Copy offers an optional one-time purchase to unlock Smart Detect and OCR features. Purchases are processed through Google Play. Safe Copy does not receive or store your full payment card information.
Data Retention and Deletion
Safe Copy is designed to minimize retained data. Original imported files and temporary export files are kept only as needed for the current session. Files you explicitly save to your gallery, chosen folder, or another app remain under your control and can be deleted by you at any time.
Security
We aim to minimize retained data and keep processing on-device whenever possible. No security method is perfect, but Safe Copy is designed to avoid unnecessary network transfer of sensitive document contents.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same public URL.
